What??? The Name, "FRED VEGAS"  is Trademarked???
That's just nuts! How can you trademark a town's nickname?
I Agree. If "FRED VEGAS" is trademarked, then it shouldn't be     allowed to be used by anyone but the guy who trademarked it.
What about the name, "Fred'burg" ? Or "FredRocksburg"?? Or      "FredTastic"? "Fredlicious"???....."Freddi Bo Bo"?
Now I've heard everything.
I really don't care either way.

* February 2010, I received a "cease and desist" email  by a gentleman who makes claim that he has trademarked the locally coined nickname,
"FRED VEGAS".
More emails followed stating that if I didn't remove the term
"FRED VEGAS"
from this site, that his lawyer would be calling me.

For what it's worth, I registered www.fredvegaslive.com and created
this ( once fun to operate ) web site in April 2009 ~10 months prior to receiving "trademark infringement" accusation.

Even got an encouraging write up on www.fredericksburg.com in June 2009.

I wonder if Urban Dictionary received a "Cease and Desist " as well?

Disclaimer: I use the term
"FRED VEGAS"
here solely as a reference in describing why I
have now changed the banner to
"PHRED VEGAS"
instead of the aforementioned and once viewed
text based, "FRED VEGAS" banner.

So in the mean time, while I check on the validity of this legal snafu I've been pegged under, anytime you see the word
"PHRED VEGAS"
will of course, be the loving reference to
"FRED VEGAS"
which still describes our cool little town of
thriving restaurants, shops, musicians and artists
and those that support their gifts to the Burg.

FRED VEGAS
Dedicated to the
Live Music & Arts Scene of
Downtown
Fredericksburg, Virginia and
those who help make it the
BEST TOWN to experience the
Awesome Talent and
Creative Souls
that thrive here.
